A dance home for our community
Levin The Movement was founded in January 2023 with a big dream for a small town: to create a welcoming, professional dance space right here in the heart of Horowhenua – where tamariki could explore movement, grow in confidence, and reach their full potential.
In September 2024, we proudly moved into our new venue on Seddon Street with 2 purpose-built studios. With sprung floor for safe training, almost 20 metres of mirrors to help dancers refine their technique, and beautiful spaces including a reception area, kitchen, homework zone, and dressing room – it’s not just a studio – it’s a hub for our dance community.
Our kaupapa is simple:
– Accessibility – making dance accessible to as many young people in Horowhenua as possible
– Excellence – providing high level training and opportunities for our most talented and dedicated dancers
We’re proud to have given over $35,000 in scholarships and fee support in 2024 alone – making it possible for more local kids to experience the joy, discipline, and opportunities that come with dance.
At the heart of The Movement is a culture of inclusivity, support, and growth. We’re focused on building more than great dancers – we’re building friendships, confidence, resilience and pride in our local talent, whether they’re dancing for joy, expression, or to pursue a professional path.
